Singapore Changi Airport opened its doors in July 1981. Today, Changi is not only a major gateway to Asia; it is also one of the most-awarded and busiest international airports in the world.

Efficiency, safety, security and service excellence are the essential pillars of a world-class airport and these qualities will continue to be the hallmarks of Changi Airport. The Airport takes pride in providing good customer service and strong capabilities to create exceptional journeys that deliver a memorable airport experience. At the heart of Changi’s success is what is known as the Changi Experience, which is about putting its passengers first and at the heart of everything it does.

Changi Airport will continue to adopt a proactive policy of building in anticipation of future traffic demand and providing ample capacity to cater to passengers and airlines’ growth. The airport has been constantly upgrading its existing facilities to maintain its competitive edge as an attractive airport for travellers and as an efficient operating environment for airlines. From a single terminal in its formative years, Changi Airport now operates four terminals – Terminals 1, 2 and 3, as well as the Budget Terminal.

Passengers can look forward to an enhanced airport experience at the rejuvenated Changi Terminal 1 by the second half of the year. The concept for Terminal 1’s face lift is “Tropical City”. Works will refurbish the terminal’s interior design and finishes, as well as improve passenger flow at key areas. As part of Terminal 1’s upgrading works, services and facilities offered will also be improved. The building will also be expanded to allow for the provision of new passenger facilities while expanding the retail and F&B offerings.

Changi Airport will further expand and revamp the public areas at Terminal 3 to transform the terminal into a choice shopping destination with a unique mix of shopping, dining and recreational facilities.
